A major transformation

Chukyo reopened in March 2012 after almost two years of renovation, marking a substantial change in the life of the venue. Located in the Nagoya region between Tokyo and Osaka, it serves another of Japan’s major metropolitan areas. The rebuilding is an important dividing point when looking at older photographs or course information.

Left-handed racing

Chukyo’s course is left-handed, an important distinction when comparing it with Japan’s right-handed venues. Separate turf and dirt circuits give the same racecourse different racing settings, and the official course guide should be read for the particular route in use. A racecourse name alone does not describe the full challenge.
