Inner and outer circuits

Nakayama’s turf racing uses separate inner and outer circuits, with several rail settings listed in the official specifications. The inner oval is shorter, while the outer route extends the circuit and gives particular races a different journey around the same venue. This is why the cluster of rails in a course plan should not be read as one universal route. The configuration forms part of each race’s identity.

Courses within a course

Nakayama’s layout accommodates dirt racing and steeplechasing as well as the turf circuits. The official guide lists a distinct dirt oval and separate jumping lines, each with its own dimensions. These facilities reveal a broader sporting operation than the headline Flat meetings alone suggest. The jumping routes include an outer line and two crossing lines.
