Charyn is out of Futoon (Kodiac), a dual winner who was listed-placed three times, and is her second foal. He is a full brother to Wings Of War, winner of the Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes, placed in the Gr.2 Sandy Lane Stakes and the Gr.2 Hungerford Stakes, and also Group-placed in France. Futoon is a half-sister to three other winners.

Second dam Vermilliann (Mujadil) won twice and is a full sister to another Gr.2 Mill Reef Stakes winner, the sire Galeota, runner-up in the Gr.1 Golden Jubilee. Her half-sisters include the Listed winner Loulwa (Montjeu), dam of Justineo, a Listed winner placed at Group 2 level, and the triple winner Lady Livius (Titus Livius), dam of the half-siblings Brown Sugar (Tamayuz) and Burnt Sugar (Lope De Vega), both successful in the Gr.3 Sirenia Stakes. Brown Sugar won a second Group 3, and Burnt Sugar was placed in the Gr.1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.

Third dam Refined (Statoblest) won twice.

This is also the family of Oscula (Galileo Gold), a Group 3 winner placed in the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac.

Futoon has an unraced two-year-old full sister to Charyn named Shinara, a yearling full sister and a colt foal, again by Dark Angel.
