Nest is out of the stakes winner Marion Ravenwood (A.P. Indy) and is a full sister to Idol, winner of the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap in 2021. Marion Ravenwood has six foals of racing age and is also the dam of the multiple stakes-placed Dr Jack (Pioneerof the Nile) and of Lost Ark (Violence), a winner on debut at two. Her two winning half-siblings include Abstraction (Pulpit), a stakes winner placed at Grade 3 level.

Second dam Andujar (Quiet American) was a Grade 2 winner and twice Grade 1-placed.

Third dam Nureyev's Best (Nureyev) won a Listed race in France and bred five winners from ten foals, the best of them Andujar. Her winning daughter Pola (Strawberry Road) produced the stakes winners Going Wild and Pola's Place.

The family also includes the sire Real Quiet, who won two Classics in the US.

Marion Ravenwood was covered by Curlin for 2023.
