Master Of The Seas is the tenth of 12 foals of racing age out of Firth of Lorne (Danehill), a Listed winner in France who was second in the Gr.1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches in 2002 and multiple Grade-placed in the US. He is a half-brother to Latharnach (Iffraaj), a Listed winner at Redcar and second in the Gr.1 St James's Palace Stakes, Falls of Lora (Street Cry), winner of the Gr.3 UAE Oaks, a stakes winner in England and placed in the Gr.2 Cape Verdi Stakes, and Etive (Elusive Quality), a Listed winner in Germany and multiple stakes-placed in France.

The second dam Kerrera (Diesis) won at Group 3 level at two and was second in the Gr.1 1,000 Guineas at three. She produced six other winners, among them the Group 3-placed Shmoose (Caerleon), and one of her daughters is the dam of the Listed winner Ceremonial Jade. An unraced daughter of Kerrera is the dam of the Group 2 winners and sires Dupont and Pacino and the grandam of Moon In June and Golden Belle, both Group winners in South Africa.

The third dam Rimosa's Pet (Petingo) was a dual Group 3 winner for Sir Charles Clore. Besides Kerrera she produced Rock City (Ballad Rock), winner of the Gr.2 Gimcrack Stakes, placed several times at Group 1 level and later a sire, as well as seven other winners.

Falls of Lora is the dam of Albahr, a Grade 1 winner in Canada, and of Cascadian, a multiple Group 1 winner in Australia, and Firth of Lorne is also the second dam of Just Fine, a Group 1 winner in Australia.
