La Petite Coco is the first runner from three live foals out of the unraced La Petite Virginia (Konigstiger) and the best of her two winners. La Petite Virginia is a half-sister to Lavirco (Konigsstuhl), winner of the Gr.1 Deutsches Derby and the Gr.1 Europa Preis and later a sire, and to his full brother Laveron, winner of the Deutsches St Leger, then a Group 2, and third in the Gr.1 Deutsches Derby.

Second dam La Virginia (Surumu) won twice in Germany and has five winners, among them Lavirco, Laveron and Lyonels Glory (Green Desert), winner of the Gr.3 Fürstenberg-Rennen. Her unraced daughter La Vinchina (Oasis Dream) is the dam of Lacy (Authorized), winner of the Badener Stutenpreis, then a Group 3, and second in the Premio Lydia Tesio, then a Group 1, and of Langtang (Campanologist), a dual Group 3 winner whose wins include the Gr.3 Preis des Winterfavoriten. Another daughter, the maiden La Dangeville (Danehill), produced the Listed-placed Lumiere Rose and Manhaj.

Third dam La Dorada (Kronzeuge) won three Listed races in Germany. She is the dam of the Listed-placed La Concordia (Surumu) and La Calera (Caracol).

La Virginia's full sister La Colorada, a Group 3 winner, is the dam of Lomitas (Niniski), a champion, triple Group 1 winner and leading sire, and of the Listed winners Los Rinos and Loco. La Concordia is the dam of the Listed-placed La Capilla and La Felicita. This is the line of Gestut Fahrhof's foundation mare Love In, whose descendants include Lagunas, winner of the Gr.1 Deutsches Derby, the leading sire Lord of England and Lady Marian (Nayef), a granddaughter of La Concordia and winner of the Gr.1 Prix de l'Opera.

La Petite Virginia has an unraced 2-year-old filly by Ivawood named La Petite Sissi and was covered by Gleneagles in 2021.
