Art Collector is out of Distorted Legacy (Distorted Humor), a stakes winner who was also placed at Grade 1 level. She won the Sky Beauty Stakes on dirt, was second on turf in the Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes, then a Grade 1, and a close fourth in the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf. Three of her four runners have won, Art Collector being the best of them, and the other two, among them Classic Legacy, a maiden winner at two, are by Into Mischief.

Second dam Bunting (Private Account) was second in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes and has eleven winners. She made an immediate impact at stud: her first foal Vision and Verse (Storm Cat) won the 1999 Grade 2 Illinois Derby, was second in the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes and Grade 1 Travers Stakes and became a sire. She also produced Performing Diva (Storm Cat), second in the 2005 Grade 2 Darley Alcibiades Stakes, and the stakes-placed Broadway Express (Broad Brush).

Third dam Flag Waver (Hoist the Flag) was a stakes winner and produced ten winners, including Bunting and the stakes winner Abidjan (Sir Ivor).

Her later descendants include the Grade 1 winner Stopchargingmaria, the Canadian champion Ginger Brew and Van Beethoven, a Group 2 winner who stands as a sire in France.

Distorted Legacy has a 2-year-old filly named Kingdom Come (Justify) and a yearling filly by Medaglia d'Oro, and was most recently covered by Gun Runner.
