DamCherry Danon

Calif is out of Cherry Danon (Rock Of Gibraltar), winner of the Gr.3 Hamburger Stutenmeile and second in the Gr.2 German 1000 Guineas. Her only other winners, all Listed winners in Germany, are Celebrity (Shamardal), a multiple stakes winner and Group-placed in Germany, Chilly Filly (Makfi), a stakes winner and Group-placed in Germany, and Cherry Lady (Soldier Hollow), a stakes winner in Germany. Cherry Danon is a three-parts sister to the unraced dam of Spillane's Tower (Walk In The Park), a dual Group 1 winner as a novice chaser.

Second damSherifa

Second dam Sherifa (Monsun) was unraced. She is a full sister to Sommernacht, a stakes-winning mare in Germany who produced three black-type winners, led by the multiple Group-winning sire Sommerabend (Shamardal), winner of the Gr.2 Prix du Muguet, along with the sire Sommertag, winner of the Gr.3 Baden Württemberg Trophy, and the Listed winner Sinnerman.

Third damShona

Third dam Shona (Windwurf) was a Listed winner in Germany.

Wider family

The female line traces to the great champion Schwarzgold (Alchimist), and this family also includes Shona's grandson Sanagas (Lomitas), winner of the Hollywood Turf Cup, then a Grade 1, and Sirius (Dashing Blade), winner of the Gr.1 Grosser Preis von Berlin.

Next generation

Cherry Danon has an unraced three-year-old filly, Cherry Lou (Lope De Vega), and a yearling filly by Mehmas named Chicago.
