Lady Laguna is out of Catalina de Lago (Encosta de Lago), whose second foal of three she is and her only winner. Catalina de Lago won twice in the city and is a half-sister to She Will Be Loved (Strategic), winner of the Gr.2 Edward Manifold Stakes, and to Thorn Dancer (Thorn Park), second in the Gr.2 Western Australian Guineas. Catalina de Lago's latest foal was Lindelago (Bolt d'Oro), who died after a single start in the Gr.3 Ottawa Stakes.

Second dam Katie O'Neill (Zabeel) was unraced. She is a half-sister to the dual Group winner Soleil Rouge (Red Tempo), whose wins include the Gr.2 Great Northern Challenge Stakes, and to Black Sun (Otehi Bay), winner of the Gr.3 Metric Mile at Marton, and the grandam of the dual Group winner Luke's Luck (Show A Heart).

Third dam Polly Soleil (Roi Soleil).

Katie O'Neill is also the third dam of Enchanted Heart (Show A Heart), winner of the Listed Takeover Target Handicap, and of Kristilli (Hellbent), winner of the Gr.2 Percy Sykes Stakes. The family further includes the Group 1 winners All Thrills Too (St Covet), Lucia Valentina (Savabeel) and Danzdanzdance (Mastercraftsman), as well as the Group 3 winners Swear and Extreme Warrior, both now at stud in Australia.

Catalina de Lago slipped her foal two years running and was covered last spring by State Of Rest.
