Mixto is the second foal out of Musical Mystery (Concerto) and a half-brother to one other winner. Musical Mystery is a half-sister to Rigoletta, who won the Oak Leaf Stakes, then a Grade 1, in 2010.

The second dam Almost Aprom Queen (Montbrook) won once and produced eight winners. Besides Rigoletta (Concerto) they include the juvenile winner Almost a Valentine (High Cotton).

The third dam Romantic Dinner (Who's For Dinner) won once and produced eight winners, among them Sea Of Green (Seacliff), a Listed winner who was Grade 3-placed, the Listed winner Lady Gin (Saint Ballado), dam of the Listed winner Queen Amira, and the dual winner Candlelightdinner (Slew Gin Fizz), dam of the dual Grade 1 winner Musical Romance.

Rigoletta is the dam of Battle of Midway, winner of the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Mile and a sire, and of Moretti (Medaglia d'Oro), a dual Listed winner who was Grade 2-placed and is a sire. Almost a Valentine is the dam of Patternrecognition (Adios Charlie), winner of the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap, and of the Listed winners Lovesick and Florida Fuego.

Musical Mystery has the 3-year-old filly Mystical Chant (Liam's Map), still a maiden, the 2-year-old colt Olafmoon (Malibu Moon) and a yearling full brother to Mixto. She had no foal in 2024 and has been covered by Mage.
