Stellenbosch is the second foal of Bloukrans (Rulership), who won three races in Japan and was best at about 10 furlongs on turf. Stellenbosch, runner-up in the Gr.1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies at two, is her first runner and so far her only winner.

Second dam Land's Edge (Dance in the Dark) was placed and has six other winners, headed by Valcos (Novellist), second at Group 2 level, and the Group 3-placed Roca (Harbinger), dam of Regaleira, winner of the Gr.1 Hopeful Stakes. Land's Edge shares her dam with Deep Impact, who won the Japanese Triple Crown and went on to become one of the most influential sires in the world.

Third dam Wind in Her Hair (Alzao), dam of Land's Edge and Deep Impact, won at Group 1 level in Germany and finished second in the Gr.1 Oaks at Epsom. She produced nine winners, headed by Deep Impact (Sunday Silence), twice Horse of the Year in Japan and a multiple champion sire, and including Veil Of Avalon (Thunder Gulch), a Grade 2 winner in the US.

Bloukrans has a 2-year-old colt by Henny Hughes and a yearling filly by Admire Mars, and she was covered in 2023 by Satono Crown.
